Summer Traction

An early start to the day had me driving through some of our finest counties to Herefordshire and Brightwells 4x4 auction at Leominster. It's long been established that this site is a massive 4x4 sales arena and attracts a large following of trade and retail buyers. Today was no exception: it was busy and well attended, particularly for a summer month, with the hammer ringing out regularly.

Seasonality usually plays its part for the time of year, but you wouldn't have thought this the case for the finer examples of Land Rover Defenders. They were probably down in number than in previous months and this obviously helped to maintain some stability.

But painfully plentiful were the numerous examples of Japanese double cabbed pick-ups which, on this occasion, saw the best well specced vehicles doing ok while others were starting to falter. We are aware and have recently noticed their volumes increasing over the past few weeks, not just here, but many more than usual have been disposed of through commercial vehicle auctions across the country.
